Craft Central, the new name for Clerkenwell Green Association, is a pioneering not-for-profit organisation established over 25 years that is dedicated to building a strong future for craft and design. Craft Central is a destination for those involved in craft who want to get somewhere, make something happen and see things differently. Crafts people and designer-makers can join Craft Central’s Designers’ Network, show work in exhibitions or in the online gallery, rent work spaces and get practical business help. Individuals interested in craft and design, can visit ground-breaking events and exhibitions, use resources to source and buy original products, commission unique one-off pieces and support Craft Central’s non-profit work. Craft Central gives everyone the chance to discover a world of craft and design that is more extensive, more inspiring and more accessible than most could ever imagine.
Johnson Matthey
In its role as sole marketing agent for Anglo Platinum, the worlds
largest platinum producer, Johnson Matthey (JM) work to ensure a growing market
for platinum group metals (pgm) in all applications. In the UK, jewellery

Designgap was founded in 1980 by Shirley Frost, herself a jewellery maker as well as a ceramist and painter. This not-for-profit organization assists designer-producers and artist-makers in the promotion of their contemporary, stylish work. She searches out creating who are clearly unusual, innovative and imaginative items in a wide variety of price ranges. The website www.designgap.co.uk provides clear informative information on each of the members, currently about 200: their businesses complement each other rather than competing. Also on the website are other useful sections concerned with other aspects of high quality creativity. Printed directories and updates are also available to retailers.
